Supporting The Passage in London

Supporting The Passage in London

We're pleased that the Music for All charity has found another home for another donated Faith Guitar.

'The Passage' runs London’s largest voluntary sector resource centre for homeless and vulnerable people: each day they help up to 200 men and women. Their  aim is to provide homeless people with support to transform their own lives.

A lovely lady called Geraldine contacted Music For All to see if they could help her to set up a music group for the charity. Music For All donated some Faith Guitars and some other instruments that had come from generous donations from the general public.  The first music group/ guitar tuition took place in early August with The Passage clients reportedly very happy to have access to the new service. Some of the group even turned up ready to perform their own self-penned songs.

About the 'Music For All' charity

Pretty much all of the small Music For All team are musicians, involved in the musical instrument industry or both. So they really know first-hand what an amazing effect making music can have on people’s lives. They see everybody from disadvantaged young people blossoming at school through to older adults discovering music, sometimes for the first time, much later on in life.

In the view of the team at Music For All, EVERYONE should have the opportunity to learn to play music. Sadly, many people are not fortunate enough to have access to musical instruments or ways to help them to learn and discover. This is where the charity comes in.

The charity has minimal overheads and administration costs, so you can rest assured that every pound raised goes into helping people to fulfil their musical dreams. The charity are lucky to be recipients of individual instrument donations from the general public, and also have the generous support of organisations from within the musical instrument industry such as the MIA (UK) and the NAMM Foundation (US). This gives the charity even greater scope to support individuals and community projects across the UK.
