FM - Natural Mercury SRP: £649.00

FM - Natural Mercury
FM - Natural Mercury FM - Natural Mercury

Model Overview

A little beauty, this Mercury is a traditional short-scale parlour model. With the neck joining the body at the 12th fret - rather than the 14th - the strings are held at a slightly lower tension than on regular models. Another implication of the 12th fret join is that the bridge is shifted further from the soundhole.

These features result in a guitar that is physically easier to play, sounds much bigger than you would imagine and is also simple to handle and transport

Faith Natural series were the very first style of Faith Guitar, and are a classic combination of Spruce and Mahogany

Using high grade Englemann Spruce for the top and satin finished Mahogany for the back and sides, Natural models feature solid Ebony binding and Macassan Ebony for the fingerboard, bridge, headplate and heelcap. Tonally, this combination of wood is generally warm, sweet and mellow, delivering an overall balanced tone.

"Construction, fit and finish is of a very high standard, characteristic of significantly more expensive instruments. Bright, lively yet full & rich acoustic tone; unexpected from a guitar this size. Nice amplified tone too. Very comfortable to play, smooth & silky. Outstanding value for money. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend."

"Overall quite happy, though some goop from the top is visible on the rosewood binding in places, some bits of glue standing proud on the neck making it feel rough sliding hand over it, and action is a bit high but that can be changed."

"I love the sound of this guitar - however it isn't quite there yet (even at 700pounds). The intonation is slightly sharp at the higher notes - I'm guessing this is due to the action being slightly high - which I will tend to in due course. Checked the neck with a fret rocker and there are a few high frets - I'm being picky though because of the cost. "

"Absolute love it .....such a lovely little thing and I love the hard case too. These guitars are VERY hard to find down here so I suggest that is looked into. Overall very happy 8/10....the best 'Parlour' I've tried - all the rest sound weird or a massive compromise .... "
on 20/06/2015
"It's so easy to play, especially when I am not such a good guitar player. The Faith Mercury is small and beautiful, it's made out of solid rosewood en spruce which result in a very warm, loud but controlled sound. This guitar is ringing and singing. You feel and you hear the quality and the workmanship that was put into it. Never thought of buying a Faith guitar actually. "

"This is an absolutely fabulous guitar! My other acoustic is a Lowden S25c, so is a considerable yard stick to measure it against. Very well set-up, incredible tone which can only get better and a lovely short scale to give my fingerstyle hands a break. I'd done a lot of research before purchasing the Mercury Natural and now would not hesitate recommending to anyone"

"I am 64 and have played many guitars in the last 40-odd years. Never before have I seen such finish and quality straight out of the box (beautifully packed by music scotland by the way). On changing the strings for my favourite Elixir strings I came across my only slight problem. The lovely ebony bridge pins are too loose and the inner ends are not tapered as they should be, with the consequence that they pop out too readily.
As for the sound and playability, it is absolutely wonderful and although I did my research before buying I was nervous still. I needn't have been. Thank you Faith - nice work.
"
