Model Overview

A little beauty, this Mercury is a traditional short-scale parlour model. With the neck joining the body at the 12th fret - rather than the 14th - the strings are held at a slightly lower tension than on regular models. Another implication of the 12th fret join is that the bridge is shifted further from the soundhole.

These features result in a guitar that is physically easier to play, sounds much bigger than you would imagine and is also simple to handle and transport

Faith Trembesi instruments are a relatively recent addition to the Faith range. Indigenous to Indonesia – where the Faith workshops are based – this beautifully grained, exotic Trembesi wood sits comfortably between the tonal offerings of Mahogany and Rosewood.

Using Engelmann Spruce for the top and Solid Indonesian Trembesi for the back and sides, each guitar looks quite traditional until the exotic timber is revealed upon closer inspection. Trembesi series guitars will respond well to strumming and finger-style techniques alike, with the frequency curve starting high, dipping a little and rising once more toward the top. The resulting sound is remarkably loud and responsive with evenly balanced harmonics.

"Overall quite happy, though some goop from the top is visible on the rosewood binding in places, some bits of glue standing proud on the neck making it feel rough sliding hand over it, and action is a bit high but that can be changed."

"Absolute love it .....such a lovely little thing and I love the hard case too. These guitars are VERY hard to find down here so I suggest that is looked into. Overall very happy 8/10....the best 'Parlour' I've tried - all the rest sound weird or a massive compromise .... "

"Great sound,Engleman spruce top is not overbraced so it vibrates as it should, very well intonated, high level of workmanship.Puts some guitars that cost twice as much to shame. "

"It's early days but so far I'm very impressed. The debuild quality and the materials used are excellent. I also much like the playability and crisp, clear tone of this guitar. Finally I like its appearance and tasteful, not overstated, decoration."
